Candidzone is seeking an experienced GIS Junior Engineer with strong expertise in road maintenance and infrastructure asset management projects in Qatar. In this role, you will leverage advanced road database systems, GIS platforms, and asset management systems to support maintenance operations, spatial analysis, mapping, and reporting activities. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate data integration and maintain high-quality GIS databases for critical infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain GIS databases related to road maintenance and infrastructure assets.
• Update and monitor centralized road database records, including roads, signage, road markings, street lighting, and utilities.
• Perform GIS data analysis for road maintenance planning, asset condition assessment, and project reporting.
• Prepare thematic maps, utility maps, route maps, and maintenance reports using GIS software.
• Coordinate with engineers, surveyors, and maintenance teams to ensure accurate GIS data integration.
• Collect, validate, and process spatial and non-spatial data from field surveys and maintenance inspections.
• Support road asset inventory management and database updates according to national public works standards and requirements.
• Generate GIS reports, dashboards, and presentations for project management and clients.
• Ensure GIS data quality, consistency, and compliance with project specifications.
• Assist in integrating CAD drawings, GPS survey data, and satellite imagery into GIS systems.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 6 years of overall GIS experience, with at least 3 years specifically dedicated to major Qatar road maintenance and infrastructure projects. Experience with pavement condition assessment and maintenance prioritization is preferred.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geoinformatics, Geography, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of road asset management, maintenance workflows, infrastructure GIS standards, and enterprise Web GIS applications. Familiarity with road maintenance contracts, asset coding standards, GPS survey data processing, and CAD-GIS integration.
• Software Proficiency: Highly proficient in ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, QGIS, AutoCAD, SQL / Geodatabase Management, and Python for GIS automation and data processing.
• Skills: Excellent spatial data management abilities, capable of managing large infrastructure datasets efficiently, combined with strong communication and technical reporting skills.
