We are seeking a highly experienced and leadership-driven Senior Resident Engineer to oversee large-scale construction and infrastructure operations in Qatar. In this senior role, you will take full ownership of site supervision, contract administration, and technical compliance, serving as the primary liaison between clients, consultants, and contractors. The ideal candidate will combine elite technical engineering acumen with a robust track record of delivering complex civil and infrastructure developments on schedule and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary on-site representative, directing and managing the entire resident construction supervision team.
- Oversee day-to-day site execution to ensure all infrastructure and civil works strictly comply with approved drawings, project specifications, and quality benchmarks.
- Review and approve contractor submittals, method statements, material inspection requests, and as-built documentation.
- Manage contract administration, evaluate variation orders, assess progress claims, and actively mitigate project risks or delays.
- Lead regular technical progress meetings and coordinate seamlessly between clients, design engineers, and subcontractors to resolve complex on-site constraints.
- Enforce rigorous health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards across the site to guarantee complete compliance with local regulatory frameworks.
- Monitor project milestones and prepare detailed engineering dashboards, progress reports, and executive summaries for senior stakeholders.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 15+ years of overall professional engineering experience, with at least 5 to 8 years of dedicated experience running large-scale infrastructure projects as a Resident Engineer or in a similar leadership capacity.
- Regional Experience: Prior professional experience within Qatar or the broader GCC region is a distinct and highly valued advantage.
- Core Expertise: Proven track record in infrastructure development, project planning, contract management (such as FIDIC), and construction supervision.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related technical field.
- Certifications: Valid Qatar Engineering License (MME/MMUP/UPDA) is highly preferred.
- Status: Must be locally available in Qatar with a valid Qatar ID (QID).
- Skills: Strong technical leadership, exceptional communication, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management capabilities.
