Candidzone is seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Hydrotest Technician to join a major industrial development at Ras Laffan Industrial City (RLIC). In this role, you will be responsible for executing essential hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure testing on pipelines, vessels, and associated pressure equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong field experience handling high-pressure systems, a solid understanding of testing safety protocols, and the ability to interpret technical engineering diagrams accurately.
Responsibilities
- Perform safe and accurate hydrostatic and pneumatic testing on pipelines, vessels, and high-pressure equipment in strict compliance with project specifications.
- Set up, install, and isolate test networks using test blinds, temporary piping, high-pressure pumps, manifolds, and calibrated pressure gauges/recorders.
- Closely monitor and log pressure, temperature, and flow variations throughout the duration of the testing phases.
- Conduct meticulous leak detection passes to identify, tag, and report any leaks, pressure drops, or structural weak points in the system.
- Complete all mandatory test reports, pressure logs, and testing certificates accurately for quality control and client sign-off.
- Ensure all testing operations adhere rigidly to international engineering standards and site-specific safety protocols.
Requirements
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of dedicated experience as a Hydrotest Technician within the oil & gas, fabrication, or heavy infrastructure industries.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong working familiarity with Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) piping systems, high-pressure pumps, testing manifolds, and specialized safety exclusion zones.
- Skills: Proven ability to read and accurately interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), blueprints, isometric drawings, and engineering layouts.
- Physical Fitness: Must be capable of passing the mandatory project site medical examination (fees reimbursed post-joining).
- Communication: Good practical communication skills to coordinate testing sequences safely with site supervisors and safety officers.
