Job brief

We are seeking a highly strategic and leadership-driven Construction Manager to oversee complex execution within the Oil & Gas sector. In this senior role, you will take full ownership of planning, directing, and closing mechanical engineering projects within heavily regulated, high-hazard facilities. The ideal candidate will combine deep mechanical engineering knowledge with a robust track record of managing oil and gas contracts, balancing manpower needs, and maintaining elite client relations to ensure successful, safe, and profitable project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Take absolute accountability for planning, executing, monitoring, and closing Oil & Gas projects within specified timelines, budgets, and technical scopes.
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary project teams, manage site resources, and provide clear leadership across engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) workflows.
  • Manage high-value contracts and serve as the primary technical and commercial interface for client representatives, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Formulate and implement comprehensive execution strategies, project schedules, and cost-control baselines, proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Monitor site construction and mechanical maintenance activities to guarantee strict compliance with project quality standards and international oil and gas specifications.
  • Champion a world-class health, safety, and environmental (HSE) culture on-site, ensuring zero-incident performance levels in all active project zones.
  • Generate and present transparent progress reports, cash-flow forecasts, and project KPI dashboards for senior executive management and clients.

Requirements

  • Education: Mandatory Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent technical qualification).
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 to 15 years of relevant engineering and managerial experience. (Note: Accompanying engineer tracks require a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience).
  • Industry Background: Prior Oil & Gas industry experience is strictly mandatory.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of international oil and gas codes, standards, mechanical asset management, and complex contract administration.
  • Skills: Exceptional leadership, stakeholder coordination, and budget management abilities, with outstanding communication and technical presentation skills.
