Candidzone is urgently seeking two highly qualified Environmental Officers to join for an immediate 3-month assignment. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and reporting on environmental and sustainability practices across major infrastructure works. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in civil construction environments, a proven track record with Lusail Real Estate Development Company (LREDC) compliance, and a strong background in infrastructure development within the GCC.
Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor daily environmental and sustainability compliance for large-scale infrastructure construction activities, including roads, highways, tunnels, underpasses, pipelines, and underground utilities.
- Prepare, validate, and submit mandatory LREDC environmental reports, specifically tracking and managing Environmental Design Logistics (EDL) and Monthly Environmental Reports (MER).
- Compile comprehensive daily and weekly environmental field reports, maintaining meticulous records for project management and client review.
- Lead the closeout process for environmental Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct regular site environmental inspections to identify potential hazards, manage waste streams, monitor pollution control measures, and ensure strict adherence to project specifications.
- Coordinate closely with project managers, construction engineers, and HSE teams to integrate environmental mitigation strategies seamlessly into daily field operations.
Requirements
- Education: Degree or Diploma in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- Experience: 7 to 10 years of professional environmental experience within the civil construction industry in Qatar or the GCC. A minimum of 5 years must be specifically dedicated to infrastructure projects.
- Client Approvals: Prior approval or proven experience within Lusail (LREDC) projects is highly advantageous.
- Technical Knowledge: Thorough process and technical understanding of environmental impacts associated with heavy civil engineering works (tunnels, highways, deep utilities). Proven experience handling LREDC compliance tools (EDL/MER) is essential.
- Certifications: Additional certifications such as ISO 14001 (Lead Auditor/Implementer), ISEP, NEBOSH, or status as a GSAS Certified Green Professional (CGP) will be considered a distinct advantage.
- Software & Communication: Highly proficient in spoken and written English, with strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for technical dashboard reporting.
