Job brief

Candidzone is seeking a proactive and results-driven Business Development Officer to join a leading organization in the freight forwarding industry. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for driving business growth by securing new opportunities and expanding existing client accounts. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of market dynamics, excellent negotiation skills, and a proven ability to achieve sales targets within the logistics and freight sector.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve mutually agreed sales targets by identifying new business opportunities and growing existing accounts.
  • Research and generate leads through the internet, industry exhibitions, and media, following through from initial contact until the business is successfully secured.
  • Study market trends, monitor competitors' strengths and weaknesses, and adapt strategies to cater to evolving customer requirements.
  • Liaise effectively between internal departments to ensure all customer requirements and service level agreements are met.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries and issues, and coordinate the resolution of payment issues for your respective clients.
  • Collaborate closely with the Sales Coordinator to draft proposals, manage contract renewals, and compile comprehensive sales reports.
  • Actively promote brand awareness and identify potential areas for sales or operational improvements.
  • Attend industry sales meetings, conferences, and training sessions as opportunities arise.

Requirements

  • Experience: Proven track record in sales or business development, with a strong preference for experience within the freight forwarding or logistics industry.
  • Licenses & Mobility: A valid Qatar Driving License is mandatory. Candidates possessing their own vehicle are highly preferred.
  • Availability: Must be locally available in Qatar. Candidates must be able to join with a maximum notice period of 2 months.
  • Demographics: Open to male candidates of any nationality.
  • Skills: Excellent market research, communication, and relationship-building abilities, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and target achievement.
