Job brief

We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious CNC Operator (Plasma/Laser) to join the Shipyard division at MILAHA. In this role, you will be responsible for executing all types of heavy machinery works, processing materials, and interpreting technical blueprints. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience operating specialized workshop machinery within heavy engineering or shipyard environments and must pass a practical, on-site trade test to verify their technical proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Set up, program, and operate CNC Plasma and Laser cutting machines, as well as general shipyard machinery including Milling, Lathe, Shaping, and Slotting machines.
• Read, interpret, and work precisely from structural engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical job specifications.
• Execute all machining and fabrication works in a safe manner, strictly complying with departmental Quality Assurance (QA) procedures and Quality Manuals.
• Monitor machine outputs, perform routine dimensional checks, and ensure finished parts meet strict tolerance levels.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on assigned workshop machinery to minimize operational downtime.
• Execute any other general machining or workshop duties and responsibilities as assigned by the shipyard management.

Requirements

• Education: Technical training school certificate or I.T.I. (Industrial Training Institute) certification in the trade of Machinist.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 to 10 years of solid, verifiable experience in a similar machining trade.
• Industry Background: Heavy engineering industries experience in machining is strictly mandatory. Prior experience working inside a shipyard environment is highly preferred.
• Documentation (Mandatory): Candidates must possess a verifiable experience letter/certificate confirming the minimum required years, previous salary proof, and educational certificates.
• Nationality Restrictions: Please note that Indian, Pakistani, and Egyptian nationalities are excluded from this specific requirement due to project visa constraints.
• Testing: Must be currently residing in Qatar and available to complete a practical Trade Test at the company site.
